- Can I see a sample of your work?

- Yes. Just click here to see our pricing, and click the box labeled "Free Sample Edit." We will edit a small portion of your document, so that you can see how our editing service would assist you in your English-language communication.

- What kind of changes do you make during editing and proofreading?
- A:
- We edit for grammar, sentence structure, usage, spelling, capitalization, punctuation, logic and clarity. If we encounter larger problems in a document, we suggest whatever changes are possible and provide some comments to assist our clients in improving their documents' logic or clarity.

- Will you change the format of my document?
- A:
- We try to make as little change to your document's format as possible. Sometimes it is inevitable that the format will change slightly; for instance, page breaks may change as a result of small changes in the length of your text. We attempt to follow the intent indicated by the original format. Nonetheless, you should examine the file we send you to make sure its format is appropriate before using it.

- I have a document longer than 4000 words. Why can't I submit it on your website?
- A:
- We are happy to work on larger documents, but we find that it is better to offer customized price quotes for these projects. There is considerable variation in the kind and degree of editing that different projects require, and this becomes significant as documents grow larger. Please email us at service@hkenglishediting.com to obtain a quote, and feel free to attach your document or a portion of it.

Our website accepts the following formats:
- Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)
- OpenOffice/OpenDocument (.odt)
- Rich Text (.rtf)
- Plain Text (.txt)
If you have a document in another format, email us at service@hkenglishediting.com, and we will tell you if we can edit documents in that format.

- How do you protect the privacy of my document?
- A:
- When you upload a document to our site or download one to your computer, the document is sent using 256-bit encryption so that it cannot be read by anybody else. Your documents on our site are only accessible to you, and your access is protected using encrypted passwords. For more information, see our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

- We are happy to offer discounted rates for larger projects and frequent customers. Please contact us at service@hkenglishediting.com to inquire further.

- What currencies do you accept?
- A:
- All prices given on our website are in Hong Kong Dollars. However, whether you pay by credit card or using a PayPal account, PayPal makes it possible for you to pay in your own currency. The exchange rate given by PayPal is shown before you complete your transaction.

- When do you process my payment?
- A:

When you submit a new editing project, we authorize your payment but do not process it. In effect, a hold is put on your credit card account (or PayPal account) for the amount we've quoted as the project's price. When we finish editing your document, we tell PayPal (our credit card processor) to go ahead and process the payment.
We do this so that we can look at your document before charging you. This allows us to ensure that the service we provide is appropriate to the document submitted, e.g. that it does not require other kinds of work like translation or more substantial rewriting.

- Why do you use PayPal for credit card processing?
- A:
- Using PayPal to process credit card payments helps us to protect the security of your credit card. Our own website is quite secure, but we don't think you should have to worry about that; instead, we use PayPal so that your payment information is never stored on our system at all.
